Using the a2z system for on site booth sales in Las Vegas in February for the HIMSS13 event, the HIMSS team incorporated eSignatures, eliminating paper contracts and speeding up the booth sales process considerably. Many exhibitors provided positive feedback on the new faster, electronic space selection.
The HIMSS team has also been active in social media for some time, as have their audiences. Pulling together a cheat sheet for Twitter with industry issue hashtags, predefined lists and industry topics is a great idea to keep such a large event all on the same page. Not only were they savy in their use of tech, they also offered great educational sessions with positive feedback on most of the sessions and keynotes, noted as I was following the #HIMSS12 hashtag from my desk on the east coast.
A growing event and savvy staff showcased a great event engaging with their exhibitors and attendees, and incorporating technology in the right places in the right way.
