Every few months at a2z, we make it a point to spend quality time with our fellow a2z team members and do some team bonding. We have a guest speaker come in, and we all convene together (even our remote members) to learn as a team. I learned that there is great value in getting to know your team members and building trust. When you take the time to sit down and get to know your team on a deeper and more personal level, you realize there is a lot you didn’t know about them and that you probably have a lot more in common with each other than you originally thought. When we opened up and let ourselves be vulnerable, it showed that we could trust each other.
Here are 5 reasons why it is important for a team to trust each other:
Teams that have trust can communicate openly and honestly with each other.
They can grow together, develop new skills, and learn from each other.
- Trusting teams will be more willing to ask for help and provide constructive feedback.
- They will function more effectively and efficiently because they will be able to communicate better.
- These teams are often more motivated and inspired. Teams that are motivated and inspired are more likely to work together to deliver results that go above and beyond what is expected.
