Expo! Expo! came to Baltimore, Maryland and was kicked off with a pivotal opening ceremony and a visit from the Mayor of Baltimore, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, who wholeheartedly welcomed the event to her hometown. Here are a few impressive things I noticed during my afternoon at the show:
Every time booth personnel gave out promotional items or product brochures to a visitor, they would scan that person’s badge. This is an excellent method of capturing attendee contact information and is definitely much easier and more efficient than exchanging business cards.
There was a lot of buzz going around about the show’s networking and matchmaking solution powered by a2z, Inc. The a2z booth staff reported that they were busy right from the start because they were able to connect with registered buyers in order to make onsite appointments throughout the three-day event. Their lead generation grew exponentially because they were able to fill their calendars before the show even began. Other exhibitors were also thrilled that they didn’t have to wait for show time to find and make meaningful connections.
Photo Booth Fun
This is another clever way to collect contact information and extend a show’s reach across social media platforms. a2z engaged attendees with a fun, Maryland themed photo booth and also had a contest for whoever received the most likes on Facebook for their ChirpE Photo Booth pic.
All in all, it was a great experience. I met a lot of fascinating people who were excited to be in the trade show industry. The cool swag I was able to collect was also a big bonus!
