Q. What are your primary responsibilities at your organization?
My main responsibilities are sales and marketing strategy, project management, and exhibit operations . At the IAFC, we produce six annual events and several regional activities throughout the US.
Q. Cats or dogs?
Dogs! My dog, Stella Blue, is a very spoiled golden doodle!
Q. How have your events evolved over the last few years?
Trade shows are consistently trying to stay relevant. We have been increasingly concerned with engaging the right audience and building a community through unique experiences. We have focused on re-energizing our clients, attendees, and exhibitors, to increase retention and loyalty. Content and creativity are key principles in our department.
Q. How is a2z’s technology helping your organization?
a2z is used for our exhibit platform. We use the software to streamline booth sales processes, manage financials, and enhance virtual presence for our customers. Mass data is easily tracked and reported – which helps with benchmarking and identifying needs and/ or trends. The ease of the software allows for us to have a more robust customer relations plan- than tactical and administrative.
Q. What is the coolest thing you have seen at any show?
Truthfully, I have been in the business a long time. I have seen everything from celebrities doing booth promos, roller coasters constructed, live animals, attendees that dress the part, and medical labs with live surgeries. Every industry has really cool opportunities for display and engagement. For the past 17 years, I think the coolest thing is seeing attendees laugh and having fun. Conferences are a place for expanding your network and learning about your peers.
