From time to time, we share with our audience on this blog examples of how leading trade show organizers are making the most of their a2z solutions. Today, I’d like to share how the exhibits team at HIMSS has infused some pretty creative thinking into their online event map set up by adding images, markings and Non-Exhibiting Spaces (NES) to make the maps more interactive and useful for their 2016 event participants.
Currently, the clickable NES link over to HIMSS Media Publication Opportunities so that any exhibitor interested in a specialty area get more details on that specialty area. Closer to the event, as the floor plan is readied to be presented to attendees, these links will point to web pages that describe what will take place in these specialty areas.
The NES feature in a2z’s Exposition Management & Marketing solution enables show organizers to create hotspots for meeting rooms, registration area, lounges, etc. Markings can be drawn with outlines and text using custom colors and fonts to indicate hall entrances, exits, aisles and more.
“Why wouldn’t you want to showcase where certain items are on the show floor?” shared Virginia Geoghegan, Manager, Exhibits Services with HIMSS. “HIMSS took that step with a2z and provided a floor plan with locations of food & beverage, escalators to the show floor, recharge areas, our specialty booths to highlight for our attendees and exhibitors where these items will be before even arriving at show site. It just makes the experience better for all attending.”
“Our goal was to provide a detailed floor map of where these locations will be,” Geoghegan added. “We provide a detailed map at the show site, but you have to wait until it goes live to review the map, so why not showcase these items ahead of time so attendees and exhibitors can plan their time accordingly while at show site. We hope providing these locations on our a2z floor plan will assist our attendees in getting from point A to point B in a timely manner.”
