Director of Show Operations and Exhibits
Las Vegas Events, Inc.
Q. What are your primary responsibilities at your organization?
Aznarez: I am the Director of Show Operations and Exhibits for Las Vegas Events, Inc. I produce, execute and manage the Cowboy Christmas, a Western themed gift show, the only official and original gift show of the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo held annually for 10 days in Las Vegas, Nevada. Throughout the year my responsibilities include assigning, communicating, and interacting with the Show’s exhibitors, various personnel at the las Vegas Convention Center, the general contractor/decorator associates, and show staff. My main goal is to continue to improve the Cowboy Christmas experience yearly while maintaining our status as the top show offered during the WNFR with unmatched service detail, shopping and product offerings and the variety of onsite interactive elements.
Q. Something fun about you that most people in the industry probably don’t know?
Aznarez: I am the office resident baker for scratch made to order birthday desserts for LVE’s each employee.
Q. Cats or dogs?
Q. How do you use a2z’s technology to help you through your show cycle?
Aznarez: a2z helps streamline the booth assignment process as well as the financial and invoicing for the show. I like how convenient it is to run reports for both internal use and interoffice needs, as well as having all previous show information saved in one location is helpful when comparing the current show to past shows. Each year I use the program I discover a helpful option to improve my work efficiency and how to better utilize the system to best fit my needs.
Q. How have your events evolved over the last few years?
Aznarez: Our show moved halls in 2015, therefore the entire floor plan had to be redesigned and modified to fit within the new hall space while accommodating all previous exhibitors as well as first time companies. That in and of itself was a challenge after a dozen plus years in the same hall and booth layout. Our event has evolved over the past 4 years to include a more interactive fan/guest experience in addition to the approximate 450,000 square feet of show space dedicated to shopping.
Q. What is the coolest thing you have seen at any show?
Aznarez: The coolest “thing” as in a noun (person, place or thing) was seeing Martha Stewart at CES 2014.
