Our new Strategic Analysis Report (StAR) service which provides a visual, in-depth analysis of an event’s data spanning multiple years and dimensions provided significant insights to many leading event organizers.
“Events are affected by countless measurable variables. Finally getting a firm grip on this data quickly and seeing a panoramic view of your wins and losses
instills a better degree of business confidence and adaptability as you plan for the future. With StAR, we’re able to focus on shrinking the actual margin between attendee and exhibitor expectations – and growing our actual margin for profit.”
– Tim Chambers. Event Marketing Team Lead, Pennwell
Despite numerous challenges posed by volatile global geopolitical realities and digital distractions, the ROI and value delivered by face-to-face engagements at tradeshows in 2017 were evident in the reports published by numerous leading organizations. The Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) reported an overall growth for the first three quarters at a moderate 1.6% and attendance in the third quarter gained 3.4%. Per an article published by Trade Show Executive, the latest UFI Global Barometer survey included inputs from 290 exhibitions organizers from around the world and reported that 44% of the companies enjoyed increased profits in 2017. The IEEE GlobalSpec report which surveyed 503 industrial marketers revealed that tradeshows were second in the list of top marketing channels/tactics used, behind only email marketing using in-house lists (see chart above).
a2z User Group
It was wonderful to see our thriving community of a2z users come together across many cities in the country in 2017. With more onsite events than ever before in a single year in a2z’s history, we loved every single opportunity to meet our clients face to face, hear their stories in person, understand their business better, and make strong connections with them. We are very grateful and humbled by their continued support of our initiatives.
a2z announced the launch of VIBETM, a turnkey service for VIP programs. VIBE provides augmented value to matched buyers and suppliers by hosting them in an elegant, luxurious environment, and strengthens retention rates while mitigating risks to the existence of an event. With a number of VIBE events being organized through 2018 in conjunction with leading tradeshows, the a2z team is looking forward to this new initiative as a means of strengthening our clients’ brands with their audiences.

2017 saw the IAEE Young Professionals group making a significant impact in the industry. Whether it was the various chapter meetings or recognition for excellence, the young professionals definitely made their presence felt! We were thrilled when a2z’s Sr. Director of Emerging Business, Bill McGlade, was honored with the 2017 IAEE Young Professional of the Year Award. The award recognizes excellent professional performance by someone who has committed his/her time to advancing the standing of young professionals in our industry.
2017 was a milestone year for AI and VR entering the mainstream consciousness. Both brands and consumers were more open than ever before to experiment and incorporate these new-world technologies, in varying combinations of the fun, practical and purely mind-bending! We loved the enthusiastic audience response to our innovative a2zen Zone at Expo! Expo! 2017, where virtual reality was channelized to provide an extremely relaxing wellness experience for busy attendees.
